His laugh had just diminished to just a smile. An actual, real smile. It had been such a long time since he had last really smiled. Since he left Venice. Since he started school at Hogwarts. For "correcting." He let out a tiny chuckle, trying to block his head of memories he didn't want to intrude at the moment. He dropped his lashes and peered at her through them, trying to seem bashful, but possibly failing miserably. Rune and bashful just...didn't go together. "See for what? My behavior?" his smile was small, but much more mischievous then before. "Sharada, huh? Does that mean anything?"
Rune nodded in understanding, then at the sound of someone else's name, his eyes grew wide. So she lived with some other guy? Did that mean...she was unavailable? That would make sense. She was a pretty girl. Rune couldn't seem to understand why it bothered him so much, though. Then the name of the boy...he had recognized it from somewhere...shock filled his face. "You don't mean...the slytherin who was just in here? You live with him? A small sympathetic smile grew on his face. He could understand the longing in her eyes...Rune was already killing himself, and he had been at Hogwarts for only a few weeks. For some reason, though...he didn't think being there would be so hard anymore.."Who knows...maybe I'll take you some time."
His breath caught in his throat at the feel of her small hand wrapping around his wrist. His right hand fell on her cheek, feeling the warmth of her blush against his rough and soft fingers. Her eyes were closed, and he only needed to lean in a bit closer...he bit his lip in temptation and moved a fraction closer. Then her eyes fluttered open, and he was staring into pools of beautiful serenity. He gasped and sighed at her magical beauty...it was as if she were bewitching him. He wanted to be so much closer, though he was already so very close. Her voice made a cold shiver run down his spine. His black eyes searched her light ones, and there was confusion...did he notice a hint of fear? His right hand went from her cheek back to her hair. He stroked it gently and smiled at her, though he could suddenly feel the similar fear of attachment. He didn't normally like to get close like this, but...he just couldn't resist. "I wish I knew..." he whispered, before gently brushing his lips against hers.

There was something different about the smile on his face than the others, it was more genuine. It was a contagious smile that kept the smile on her face shining, there was something different about this boy. Peering at her through his lashes, Ray found that he was trying to portray something he wasn’t, he seemed like a confident boy so it must be part of the joke that they were weaving out. She giggled at his banter and shrugged. Mostly, but that charm of yours has a part. She teased simply infatuated with the charm of his that she pointed out. Thinking about her name she had nothing to respond for she was never told. I’m not quite sure. She said, but she liked her name anyway.
He seemed like he was in shock at what he said. Thinking about her words she could find nothing wrong with them. It was an honest fact that she does live with Arrow, they were simply best friends, even that was a stretch for both of them were very private and didn’t talk much about deep things. Tilting her head a bit at his tone and words she nodded. The owner of the Three Broomsticks offered us a place to stay in exchange for working for him during vacations. Arrow is a close friend. Her voice had a tone of finality to it, as if that was all that they were ever going to be - which it was true. Smiling at his comments, she couldn’t believe his offer but a rush of gratitude and affection washed over her. That would be wonderful. She said thinking about it. Their own little nolita fairytale.
A gasp escaped his throat and she leaned into his hand slightly, simply comfortable being this close to him. Shifting slightly so she was sitting right next to him, she noticed that it brought their bodies a lot closer together seeing as simply leaning forward only brought their faces close. She could feel the heat radiating off of him and her stomach flipped with a thousand butterflies and her heart rate reached its peak. His dark eyes were searching her own, reading her very soul, it was a bit intimidating but she liked being this open book laid out in front of him. It comforted her that someone was willing to read her story, her emotions, her thoughts. He was drawing her in inch by inch, the appeal he had was overwhelming any logic side she had of hers. His whisper sent shivers racing down her spine and his lips brushed against her sending her through a whirlwind of emotions. Her eyes closed halfway, savoring that slight brush, loving the soft feel of his lips. Leaning slightly in again she pressed her lips a bit more firmly to his, her eyes closing all the way, her other hand reaching up, holding the side of his face as if she had a hard time believing he was there.

Rune let out a small laugh, trying to complement the incredibly fake bashfulness. But after a couple seconds, he decided to just let it go. Charming, huh? Rune bowed his head and put a hand on his chest, as if he were bowing to royalty. "My charm is for you, and only you. Please accept me as your slave. It would be my honor" He didn't imply the sarcasm. With his choice of words, it didn't need to be implied. But he found the double meaning behind what he said incredibly entertaining. He smiled at her. Sharada...it was a unique name. He loved it. "I like it. A lot. Sharada...I wish I knew what it meant..." he hardly even noticed he was complimenting her. Rune had only wanted to taste the sound of her name in his voice. He liked the way it sounded.
He blushed slightly at her words of finality. Just a friend. It pleased him, though why he even cared was really beyond him. He shrugged at the mention of Arrow again. Rune really did not like that guy. He was surprised that such a nice girl like Ray would room with such a person...full of hatred and loathing. Rune didn't usually judge people, though people always judged him. He didn't care about what people did or said, or any of that. But he heard of this Arrow guy...he heard of the way he jinxed three innocent bystanders on his way out of Hogwarts. Rune heard how he didn't return until a year later, and when he did return, Rune knew how people feared him. Did that Arrow kid seriously have to be so mean to everyone? It wasn't the world's fault, whatever had happened. "Sorry, that sounded wrong. I just...whatever. Nevermind." He tuned back to Ray, ignoring Arrow, and frowned. "So why do you live with that guy, and not where you did before?"
His smile was sweet. He had the sudden want to take her away from the castle, take her to see the world that was his playgound. "Just say the word. We're out of here in a second." Running away. That was the one thing Rune was truly good at. Running away, wreaking havoc, and the piano...
She had responded to him in the way Rune had hoped...heat rose through his body, and he could feel his blush intensifying as she pressed herself closer to him, their lips molding together into a kiss. His hand brushed her hair, found the small of her neck, and twirled his fingers around locks of dark, slightly wavy hair. His free hand slipped through to her waist, and he carefully pulled her body against his, so that she was almost sitting on him. He closed his eyes and let himself kiss her, all arguments of being a loner and not getting attached to anyone completely wiped from his mind. He could get attached to her. Slowly, he deepened the kiss, trying to be hesitant and tender. How he loved the way she felt under his lips and in his arms...he could stay like this forever...

A smile graced her face as she watched the antics of the boy across the room. His dark eyes were swimming in amusement at their conversation as hers were. They reflected each other but she shook that thought out of her mind. There’s no way someone as beautiful as him could be as scarred as her. But there has to be some way to repay your services. Her voice filled with modesty both surreal and honest. Her head had tilted a bit and she looked up at him through a small veil of long eyelashes and dark bangs. And at the complimenting of her name, she felt the red hue gather at her cheeks again and looked down. Me too. And what about your name? Hinting toward a mystery waiting to be decoded? She said, her voice laced with flirtation and playful banter.
She knew what people thought of Arrow. In fact, it surprised her people even took their time to think of him. They usually ignored the Slytherin and figured he was meant for nothing big or even significant so why bother? But, he was a very intelligent and creative man who held true to his passions. And since once of those passions left he became a hollow form for what was once there. Ray wanted to snap her neck for ever putting him through that… Snapping out of her thoughts, Ray looked back at Rune and listened. It’s no problem, many people don’t like him. And after that she giggled remembering a lot of talk a couple years ago when he was running with the wrong crowd. Because if he didn’t take me away I wouldn’t be here. She said vaguely but smiled innocently. Rune wouldn’t want to know; in fact, Ray didn’t want him to know or he’d never take a second look at her. If he knew about the scars…
A small laugh escaped her and her eyes lit up with excitement. It would be amazing to leave with him from this cruel world and find their own paradise. But…she just met him! How could she think of even wanting to have a joined paradise with him? It was just…something about him that she wanted to explore, wanted to know, want for as long as she could hold on…
His hands found a more comfortable position on the back of her neck and waist and she found herself being pulled closer, basically sitting on him. Her arms snaked around him, one hand on the back of his neck and the other one found a comfortable spot against his shoulder/back without even thinking about it. The kiss was distracting her awareness so that she didn’t even remember that she was putting her hands anywhere. This boy was intoxicating. She didn’t even notice that they had basically adjusted themselves again to where she was straddling his lap, perfectly comfortable with being this close with him. Rune His dark eyes didn’t leave her imagination as she experienced a passion that she only saw in the movies. It was hard to believe it was happening to her right now. He moved and treated her in a respectable manner that made her fall even harder for him knowing he wasn’t like the other guys. Pulling away reluctantly, she remembered they were in the hospital wing and Madam Pomphrey could walk in at any moment. She didn’t move other than disconnecting their lips though, her eyes opened and she gazed into his own eyes - lips swollen and breaths were coming back after being swept away in dizzying passion. No words formed in her mind as she savored the moment.

Rune let out a rumble of laughter, shaking his head stubbornly as he did. "No way. I'm a slave, remember? I don't need any paying, other than your smile at the end of the day." His eyes twinkled at how cheesy and bad that sounded...but for some reason...cheesy and bad sounded rather good. It was the first time that ever happened. He found he liked the way it made him feel, though he frankly couldn't understand it much. He turned his gaze away, his eyes leaking with curious happiness at her inquiry regarding his name. "I guess its up to you. Can you decode it? The answer, of course, was no. No one had figured Rune out thus far, though a handful of people had tried. No one really gave it a fair chance, though...not really. Why would this time be any different?
Rune winced at her words. He didn't really appreciate being shoved in with the majority of people. But he appreciated even less when someone was unfairly cruel for no reason at all. Or maybe he had a reason...but Rune couldn't imagine what justification that Arrow kid could come up with. He simply shrugged and tried not to touch the subject again, insteat trying to steer things toward Ray. "Take you away from what? Why wouldn't you be here?" His eyes searched hers in search for an answer. But suddenly, they were vague...as if she were locking something out. Rune found he was very curious to know what it was.
He studied her as she laughed, as if Rune had made a joke. He smiled slightly too, but he didn't laugh with her. "I'm serious." he said shortly. he ran a hand through his black hair, making it slightly disheveled, then tossed his bangs out of his eyes once more, waiting for more laughter and a skeptical look to grow on her amazed and amused expression.
He sighed reluctantly as she pulled away. It almost hurt, the absense of her warm lips on his. His eyes fluttered open, and deep black eyes found soft blue. There was radioactive emotion in the air. A feeling Rune didn't even know he could possibly possess grew in the inner core of his stomach. It seemed to float through his body, warming every bit of him. He bit his lip as his eyes took her in, the way she strattled him gently...he wanted to hold her in that possition forever. His hands had bothed managed to find their way to her waist, and he craved to feel just a little bit more. Her breath was sweet on his face...he could feel the craving and the longing reverberating between them. What was happening. And a bigger question yet...why wasn't he scared? He had never seen someone as perfect as her...but why was she perfect? From her soft skin under his fingers to the shade of her eyes, to the flow of her hair...she was perfect. "But...why?" he whispered gently, trying to keep himself from pushing his lips onto hers again.

A giggle left her throat and she wondered when the last time she had smiled so much was. Recently, people have been telling her she’s been changing. The first couple of years she wore robes twice her size, she was reclusive, she didn’t even talk when teachers called on her. Then she made friends with Arrow who showed her there was something other than abuse. He knew a little of the pain she felt, and with that understanding he brought life to her world whether he realized it or not. This boy across the room, this Rune, brought so much more to this life, he nurtured it. Then I must remember to smile every moment with you, although I find that no hard task. She replied and she knew it was true, she hasn’t frowned yet. I like a good challenge. She accepted for she wanted to know everything about this kid’s world down to the single blade of grass.
She noticed the small gesture and felt guilty. I’m sorry…I didn’t mean anything wrong… She said wishing she could think more about what she said rather then just say it. She wasn’t quite sure what she had said or the meaning he interpreted it from it. All she said was that most people don’t like Arrow…She couldn’t think of it. He didn’t comment on it. Either he really didn’t like Arrow or…was it the ‘most people’ part? Decoding him was going to be a little harder than she expected but that just drew her closer to him. Uncomfortable with his question, she looked down, a hand reached into her sleeve, fingers gently traced a scar. You don’t want to know, trust me. She said and forced a smile hoping that he would see that it was nothing big.
He was dead serious. Never had anyone given her an offer like this before. It was June and in a little bit they’ll be on their summer vacation. Two months at least to travel to their own paradise on beaches, rivers, night time, basically an escape from the hell she knows as Great Britian. Summer. She said hoping that he was truly being serious because she would love to get away and being with this guy who’s entire being calls out to her is an added bonus.
Her lips felt like they were numb, her face felt like it was on fire, every nerve in her body was provoked and made her very essence glow in the aftermath of finding something that made her feel this complete, this real. While his hands traveled down to her waist, she rested one hand against his chest, feeling small in his arms but safe and comforted, and the other hand reached up toward his face. Her fingers traced the outline of his face, brushing his bangs to the side. Occasionally her eyes would travel to his and searched for the pupil only to find it almost blending in to the iris. Her fingertips sent shivers up her arm as she traced his face, making sure he was real, memorizing him. Taking her pointer finger, she traced his lips, her eyes studying them. They moved after she stopped and she looked back up at his eyes, resting both hands on his chest, feelings a torso that she knew she would probably stare at if ever revealed. Thinking about his question, she couldn’t think up an answer. Maybe he was asking himself? Throwing away logic, throwing away distrust, throwing away anything that would usually stop her from doing this, she leaned down and gave him a small but deep kiss and pulled away so that their faces were still almost touching. Can you start to fall for someone you just met? She whispered so carefully she was afraid she would scare him off with it.

He smiled at her in return, a charming and genuine smile that seemed to flatter even himself. Or maybe it was her who was flattering him so incredibly. He couldn't help but feel slightly giddy about this. He ran a hand through his hair and watched it fall yet again over his eyes, being entertained by the movement, then peeked at Ray through his bangs. "My work is done, then, when you smile. Thank you for giving me that." He didn't really realize what he had said, but he didn't mind saying it one bit. It was the truth, anyway. His smile became playful, and he lifted his eyebrows in a challenging sort of way. "You're on," he said, his voice as low as ever. "I dare you to give it a try."
"Oh," he let out a small, indifferent chortle, trying to shake off his look of bewilderment. It was none of his business anyway..."No, you don't have to apologize for anything. You didn't say anything wrong. Its just..." he didn't want to say it. He didn't want to be further classified as part of the majority. In fact, he hated that feeling. But he couldn't stop talking now that he had started. "I know how people might see your Arrow friend, and I hate to agree with everyone but...he is a complete ass, if you ask me. I'm sorry." Rune watched as Ray's expression changed to one of uncomfort. She clearly didn't want to talk about it. But at her comment, Rune almost winced again. He sighed gently and shook his head, then smiled a small, soft little smile. "Try me."
The one word floated in his head. Summe. It was perfect. The perfect chance to escape. The ideal moment to run away, make a new life in a new location...and this time not be entirely alone. This time, he wouldn't be running away or running towards something different. He wouldn't be running at all. He would actually be living. That is, if he were allowed to leave Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. It dawned on him all too soon that he wasn't allowed to leave. And the enthusiastic expression on his face melted. He looked away from Ray and shook his head. He had started to dream, but of course, Rune's dreams were never able to come true. "I can't..." he whispered.
Her hands were studying his face, like a blind person seeing another for the first time. Her eyes, a cadescent blue, studied his firmly, and he felt vulnerable and completely naked to her. It was as if she were actually seeing him, in a way he didn't think people could ever see him before. Her small fingers, warm on his soft face, tingled everywhere they touched, making him crave for more of the feel of her hands on him. He watched her eyes study more of his face, the fine details, and his own passed over her hair, her perfect lips, her cute nose...she was so beautiful. Rune closed his eyes and parted his lips slightly under her fingers, letting out a small and shuttering breath of air. What could he possibly call this feeling? Then her fingers were replaced by her lips, and he tightened his hole around her waist, pulling her more firmly against him. His eyes opened again as she ended the kiss and he, with slightly widened eyes, tried to answer..."If I had the slightest idea...trust me...I would tell you." Suddenly, he had the urge to turn away. A different feeling started to melt in his stomach, one he seldom felt, unless it involved getting close to someone: fear. "Can you call it that? I've never fallen for anyone before..."

For some reason, it amused her when he would run a hand through his stubborn hair as it fell right back in place. She liked the dark bangs to create a curtain in front of his dark eyes. It was almost as if his looks was just the opening act to the soul and using that metaphor alone made her more drawn to figuring out the mysterious boy. You’re quite welcome. She said simply, a shy, embarrassed smile appeared on her face not quite used to this kind of attention. You’ll see, Rune, you’ll see. She said teasingly smiling slyly at the boy.
A small smile appeared on her face and she shrugged her shoulders. Arrow comes across like that to most people. He’s got an anger problem. She said nonchalantly. Arrow was always there for her and she knew he wasn’t on the good side of the majority of human beings at Hogwarts. The only ones that didn’t view him as some sort of monster was her, Lilia, Jacob (although that took some convincing…), and some Riley girl that Arrow said was harassing him. Looking up at him at his gentle face and challenging words she looked down at her hands and began to fidgit with her camera. My dad…he’s a kind of artist you don’t see too often… She trailed off not really knowing how to tell her past.
Thinking about it. Summer was her escape from reality, a time where she spent the entire summer watching Gracie, helping Arrow and Aiden run the pub, and work on her portfolio. Taking pictures of human nature was something she usually did on her own time. But…could she really break the agreement that she stay at her home for free in exchange for labor at the three broomsticks? No…she wouldn’t have anywhere to go except…him. Smiling sheepishly she looked up at him through bangs. Neither can I, I nearly forgot I work during the summer. She said with a small laugh afterward.
She knew that she had an effect on him. The way his eyes glazed over before they closed, the way his lips parted in an overwhelming desire. Was this love? Or was this lust? She never experienced either but she heard stories from Arrow. He explained the difference. He taught her the ways. There was a spark when their lips connected. No, it was more, the spark just ignited fireworks, butterflies flying in her stomach, her heart clenching together as it worked harder to keep up with the adrenaline pulsing through her veins. Breath escaped her as she struggled to keep it. What was this? She buried her face into his neck and let a held breath escape her. This…is slightly scary. And let out a nervous chuckle, her eyes shut tight and her hand gripped the back of his shirt, trying to fight back the waves of fear.
