Hogwarts was much different than the sixth year had expected. Traveling the world, Dorian Oslemi has seen much, experienced a lot, and learned many of the world’s secrets. Sitting in a comfortable window seat in the library, he flipped through the pages of a book he saw on the shelves: Hogwarts A History. It was pretty interesting. All the history, folklore, and secrets of Hogwarts was detailed throughout the worn out pages. He made sure to treat the turning of the pages with a painters hand. He would have been outside if it weren't for the rain that was pounding against the stone walls of Hogwarts. The rain lowered the degrees a couple units earlier and he wore a dark sweatshirt and blue jeans, his vans kept his feet warm. His dark hair stuck up in random places showing his laziness that he had for today.
Closing the book gently, a sigh escaped the Gryffindor. It was his first day at this new school and the school year was over halfway done. Maybe he shouldn’t have spent the last six years traveling with his uncle. He could have been going to this interesting school with his twin sister Willow and younger brother Damon. All his other siblings were too young to go to Hogwarts. The other twins were going to be first years next year, the other was only eight. They had an older sister, Diazi who was a seventh year.
Willow didn’t even know he was back, he wondered how she would react. They haven’t seen each other in six years but they always wrote to each other to remain close. They both had wavy, dark brown almost black hair, brown eyes, lean bodies, sarcasm, and goofy nature. Dorian was slightly more goofy than the sarcastic Willow. He was definitely a ladies man, drawing them in with his wit and easy-going laughs.
Tomorrow he would start classes. Today he had gotten sorted, shown around, and unpacked all his belongings in his dormitory he was sharing with three other sixth year guys. Apparently, the head master had been expecting his return to the school. The Oslemi’s were fairly prestige with a huge fortune and influence over some of the dark ministry’s doings. They surely did not support their ultimate goals, but they had to stay on the good side, at least the parents did. The children rebelled slightly…well Willow that is. Dorian remained neutral and Diazi planned on becoming a death eater soon.
Thinking about Diazi and her different attitude toward life made him sigh and look outdoors at the pouring rain, wishing he could just be traveling for the rest of his life. Staying in one place for far too long seemed to bring the worst of him out.

Riley stood in the middle of the library. It was a day in which students decided to seek sanctuary in their dormitories, so only a handful of people were in that warm room, full of the smell of books, and the slightest smell of the rain that was raging on outside. Riley stood, staring out a window, pretty much unable to move. If she moved, she would collapse. She stared at the pouring droplets falling at full force, and she couldn't help but think...what if she were out there right now? A week ago, she felt like she had the power to stop the rain. Now, she dreams only of it as it falls upon leaves. Her heart beat frantically as she continued to wonder...if she were out in the rain, would she drown? Or maybe she could stop the rain. If only she had the heart.
But her heart had been broken yet again. Her hopes, and her optimism, had all been shattered by a single phrase that didn't even need to be spoken: "I don't love you." In just minutes, Riley had been left to fend for herself, after she so desperately tried to fend for others. She was left broken, beat and scarred...and she was scared that what didn't kill her, wouldn't make her stronger, but only choke her slowly until she died anyway. What was once sunshine in Riley's world, now was the rain...falling, softly, on suffocating leaves.
She used to have hope. But that hope had escaped her grasp so easily, it was almost as if she had let it go herself. What was left for her now? Her family hated her, almost to the point of banishing her. Her first love killed himself effortlessly, leaving a hole of doubt and pain behind. Her second hope, and fast-growing love, had already found the love of his life, and without explanation he had shut her out...used her, then thrown her away. Now, there was nothing left. Only the loneliness of the dark, and the drowning rain.
She took two steps toward the window, where only a boy sat and read silently to himself. Riley payed no mind to him. She wanted to reach the window, and touch the cold glass...feel the pressure of the beating rain against her hand. But she had only made it two steps. In an instant, she had collapsed, fallen to the ground without a means to get up again. She was falling in a way she had always feared. All was dark.
